Yes, we allow pets on rides, subject to the following guidelines:
For Companion Pets and Emotional Support Animals:
Riders must book a Private Ride or Door-to-Door Ride.
Companion pets and emotional support animals are not permitted on shared rides.
Pets must be secured in a travel kennel or soft travel bag for the duration of the ride.
The pet and travel kennel must be able to fit safely in a standard 4-door sedan.
Only one pet per ride is permitted.

At Hitch, we want to craft the best experience for riders and drivers. We have a few requirements for drivers to be approved on our platform. These requirements ensure the riders' experience on long-distance travel is always top of mind.
Driver applications may sometimes be rejected due to non-compliance with stipulated guidelines, providing another reason to adhere closely to our requirements.

To receive earnings from your completed trips, make sure to set up your payout method before your first ride. You can manage this through the Earnings tab, located in the menu under your profile picture.

Starting July 24, 2025
Driver earnings are calculated dynamically based on factors like the number of riders, stops, timing of ride posting, route distance, market demand, and other trip details. Before accepting a trip, you'll see an estimated payout, along with the minimum and maximum you could earn if the trip changes. Additionally, the status of the return leg of the trip (whether it is full or empty) also impacts the payout.

After Submission
After submitting your driver application on the Hitch app, you will be returned to the home screen. Your application has successfully been sent in for review and approval.
Approval Time
We're a small team; approval can take time as we manually manage each application. We are always hiring drivers, so if your application is in process, we will move it through the approval flow as best we can.
